Your Death, Sponsored by Everything is a story about those participating in The Ascension Games, the world’s most popular gameshow and the only means for an ordinary person to become an elite. The show’s host is a former contestant himself and serves as a role model for those hoping to compete. Contestants risk everything they have left for a chance to win. And behind the scenes, an army of “faceless helpers” work as crew to ensure every broadcast goes smoothly.
Of course, it’s not that simple. Losing competitors don’t return home, and even the winners are scarcely seen after their victories. There must be some controlling interest embedded high up in the mega-corporations truly running the show, but uncovering that secret will take a lot more than just winning a gameshow.
